#77 'Charleston Most Haunted Graveyard'
The Unitarian Church in Charleston graveyard is considered the most scary and eerily gravesites in all of Charleston. It is thought that the grave of Anabelle Lee was there in an unmaked grave. Edgar Allen Poe wrote the poem 'Anabelle Lee' because of his love for her many years after she was gone. They were young lovers each less than 20 years old, when Edgar was a soldier in Charleston. Anabelle father did not approve of Edgar as he wasn't the right pedagree for his daughter and he had him transferred up north. Anabelle would not eat and finally withered away and died. Her father it is said had multiple gravestones placed together in this graveyard so that Edgar would not know which one was her grave.
